Having the help of an interior designer to assist in your kitchen project can be worth its weight in gold. Unfortunately for many, it can also be more expensive than gold. Most people don’t have 30 thousand dollars to pay a designer’s fees. They have 30 thousand for the entire project!
That’s why we created Out of the Box. It offers a service where homeowners can pick and choose exactly what help they want. And know – from day one – what it will cost.
Our price list is separated into two sections; the first is for those who have decided that they want to buy IKEA cabinets. The second section outlines all the other decisions homeowners will have to make for their kitchen – whether IKEA or not.
OUT OF THE BOX IKEA KITCHEN PLANNING
IKEA manufactures some amazing kitchens. They are a great alternative for homeowners who want a beautiful kitchen without breaking the bank. But with that lower cost comes some unique challenges. A lot of the planning and buying is done by the homeowner themselves. For many this can be a daunting task. That’s where Out of the Box Kitchens can help. With many years planning and styling IKEA kitchens, we can alleviate some of that stress. Here’s how it works.
OUT OF THE BOX HOME VISIT: $300 + HST
This is all about planning. Out of the Box will visit you in your home for one hour. This is where you can share your vision and wish list. Out of the Box will discuss some of your options, give you some pointers on kitchen design, and get you started using the Ikea Kitchen Planning Tool. Along with you, Out of the Box will measure your space so you know all the dimensions you’ll need as you plan.
OUT OF THE BOX STORE VISIT: $300 + HST
This service is all about your first store visit. Out of the Box will accompany you to an IKEA store in your neighbourhood (in the GTA). They’ll assist you assist you with the In-Store Kitchen Planning Tool, as well as show you all the options you have available for cabinets, finishes, and extras.
HOME VISIT + STORE VISIT: $500 + HST
This package combines the first in-home consultation and first store visit into one discounted price.

Creating your dream kitchen means making a lot of decisions; on colours, styles, looks, and feels. This is where Out of the Box continues to be so unique. We can help with your kitchen project however you’d like. And, like always, our design help is fully modular and transparent.
Maybe you just need help with picking a couple of elements for a new kitchen you have built. Or perhaps you just want to refresh a few things for a kitchen that needs a facelift.
Each of these al a carte items gives you two hours with Out of the Box. Either in your home, at a particular store or vendor, or a combination of both. You can pick one. Or all of them. You are in total control.
COUNTERTOPS: $300* + HST
Assisting you as you work through all of your many countertop options.
FAUCETS: $300*+ HST
Helping you find the perfect faucet. It’s more than just plumbing, it’s like jewelry for your kitchen.
LIGHTING: $300*+ HST
The right fixture can illuminate your space and all your guests.
HARDWARE: $300*+ HST
Choosing the right size, finish, and placement of knobs and pulls can make all the difference in the world.
WINDOW COVERINGS: $300*+ HST
Out of the Box will help you choose the best fabrics and discuss all your many window covering options.
WALLPAPER: $300* + HST
Wallpaper is not like it was 30 years ago. There are some stunning patterns to discover.
TILE: $300*+ HST
A beautiful backsplash can take your dream kitchen up to a perfect 10.
FLOORING: $300*+ HST
You have multiple flooring options to think about. Your feet will love you for it.
SINKS: $300*+ HST
Selecting the right style, width and depth of sink can make all the difference in the world. For your dirty dishes and your sore back.
APPLIANCES: $300*+ HST
Appliances can run the range from inexpensive to the same price as a new car. Out of the Box will help you source just the right equipment to fit your aesthetic and budget.
*Each $300 items gives you three hours of total time with Out of the Box. Either all at one time or any time allotments that make sense for your project. This assumes the homeowner lives in the GTA or the store or vendor is in the GTA. Special arrangements can be made for those living outside the GTA – we love helping create beautiful kitchens from Guelph to Port Hope — Out of the Box will add a nominal charge for travel time.

Once your space is built, it’s time for the essential finishing touches. Out of the Box will assist you with styling your kitchen in a way fit for a magazine shoot. This cost includes four hours in your home or shopping with you at various stores.
EXTRAS: $150* /hour + HST
Out of the Box loves helping people make decisions about how they want their kitchen to look and function. But, sometimes, projects are more involved. Demolition, new construction, custom installation, etc. If you’d like Out of the Box to assist you in any of these things, they’d be happy to. For these “extra” services we charge $150* per hour.
